We began in 1993 as the Everett Parks Foundation. In 2001, we broadened our scope of work and became the Greater Everett Community Foundation. In 2015, the board of directors voted to change our name to the Community Foundation of Snohomish County, to better reflect our service across our community. See our history here.
- In 1999, we had 25 funds all focused on Everett parks. Today, we have 155 funds focused on all aspects of the community.
- Thanks to our eight Founding families for their early vision for Snohomish County, we hold the largest operating endowment of any other Community Foundation our size in the country.

In 1999, our assets totaled $275,000. Today they are more than $55 million.
- We are projecting to be at $50 million in assets in less than 10 years.

Our 10-year average rate of return is 9.78%. Our 2020 return was 8.72% across all funds.

Since our inception we have awarded more than $45.7 million in grants to charitable organizations in our community.

In 2020, together with our donors, we’ve awarded more than $10.7 million in grants.
- Our grant payout rate has averaged 23.38% over the past three years (13.14% in 2021).
- Continued Connect Casino Road Initiative. Finished the $1 million capital campaign and construction of the Village Community Center on Casino Road. Developed a variety of COVID-response services including a new weekly foodbank, mental health services, a rent assistance program and a variety of technology training and support to parents of school-aged children.
- Initiated a Coronavirus Rapid Response Fund with local partners in 2020. Raised $1.4 million and awarded 63 grants.
- Fifty percent of our active donor-advised fund holders either contributed to the Coronavirus Fund or made COVID related grants from their fund while working with staff.
